In this tutorial I will show you how to pre-populate an Elementor form field that's inside an Elementor Pro popup, based on the button that was clicked to open that popup.
A bit of a meandering sentence isn't it! Much easier explained with a demo:
This is useful in cases where you have many buttons on your page, all opening the same popup with a form in it. Sometimes you might want to have a field pre-filled depending on the precise button that was clicked. It can also be good UX in that case, to save the user some time.
Features:
- Works with any element: in the demo I used button elements, however this would work with any element you might wish to have open your popup.
- Works for the following field types: email, text, hidden, checkbox, radio and select.
- Works for a single field: to keep this tutorial as simple and easy to use as possible, it works to pre-populate a single field in your form. This should cover the majority of use cases though.
Let's get started!
