If you are reading this and contemplating using Bluehost for an Elementor website then you just got lucky, because by the time you are done reading this you will understand why you should not use Bluehost with Elementor.

Bluehost For Elementor Yay Or Nay? Read This Warning!

Quite frankly Bluehost does not seem to be doing well across user communities worldwide. Users had these to say in the Elementor Community:

Don't ever let your clients use bluehost, GoDaddy, or other cheap hosts. They'll blame you for the issues with the host.

Elementor Community Member

Blue host is trash. Get away from them asap before they accidentally lose your site or you get hacked. It's happened to many of my clients before they become my clients

Elementor Community Member

Move away from Bluehost. They are trash

Elementor Community Member

Some buddies of mine have been having a lot of issues with Bluehost over the past few weeks. Both of them are putting the sites they have with them on new hosting

Members of the WordPress Speedup Community also have their tales about BlueHost:

We have not had very good luck with BH hosted sites and the solution is most often changing hosts.

WordPress Speedup Member

I cannot really recommend bluehost

Runaway from bluehost!

The WP Speed up Community has also had its fair share of the issues that come with hosting with Bluehost:

YES...I have Bluehost, I paid through the year and am switching hosting AS SOON AS MY PLAN IS UP…

WordPress Speedup Member

Get as far away from Bluehost as possible, it is owned and managed by EIG and they are the absolute worst hosting operator out there. Use Siteground, it's far better for shared hosting. Bluehost will slow your site down.

WordPress Speedup Member

i haven't gotten any response from them in days

WordPress Speedup Member

...And yes, your site is probably slow because your hosting is Bluehost

In summary, here are some of the problems you are expected to encounter when working with Bluehost for Elementor:

  • Loading speed issues
  • Poor, non-responsive  service support
  • Technical errors and difficulties; you will most likely find yourself touring related communities in search for solutions to these continuous issues!
  • Most users complain of getting ripped as they are not refunded or only given a partial refund when they choose to terminate Bluehost services and sign up with another.

The poor performance of Bluehost as a hosting platform may not be unrelated to their being a part of the EIG group. A member of the Elementor Community has warned to:

Run from any and all EIG hosts…

Elementor Community Member

The EIG (Endurance International Group) was founded in 1997 and has its Headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts. It was later acquired in 2011, by Warbug Pincus and GS Capital Partners and has continued to expand its frontiers.

The EIG is one of the largest in the web hosting space, if not  the largest at the moment and they have not less than 80 web hosting brands under their umbrella, including Bluehost, HostGator and PreHost, amongst many others and EIG puts a lot of these web hosting brands on the same servers to cut costs. This definitely explains the loading speed issues!

Been with Siteground for 3 years- they are awesome! Best customer service in the world and so helpful. Amazing company!

I have been on SiteGround for the past 6 months and LOVED the transition. Super easy to set-up, their migration process has been super easy, their customer services has been super helpful, and it's cost-effective with the ability to scale. Zero issues and would recommend whole-heartedly. I currently have 15 sites with them and 12 in development.

We use a siteground cloud plan at our agency, but I also use siteground grow big for my personal account. I haven't had a problem with them yet.

I've been with a bunch of hosts over the years. I'd pick Siteground over Bluehost for sure

Siteground. Reliable, open pricing, great support service, easy to set up a WP site.

Elementor Community Member

I would say siteground, we were with bluehost for a while and there were constant problems which was amplified by their terrible support. Don’t touch bluehost with a barge pole.

100% Siteground!! I use it and recommend it to all my clients

Advanced users who are also looking for an alternative to Bluehost will find Cloudways very effective. There has been very impressive reviews about Cloudways as well across the community platforms:

I’ve been very happy with Cloudways so far. It’s not shared hosting, so you're not subject to performance issues caused by other sites and you can create as many installations on your server as you wish.

Elementor Community Member

I’ve been hosting and developing sites on Cloudways for over a year with Elementor and I’m really happy.

Elementor works perfectly with my Cloudways set up

Take a look at Cloudways. Affordable VPS, scalable and managed hosting.

I've used Elementor / Cloudflare on both Siteground and Cloudways and have never had any issues.
